It's A Girl!

Well, I flew into Reno on February 8 expecting the arrival of our new grand baby any minute. The 8th was Amber's due date . Uncle Josh was hoping the baby would arrive on his special "25th" birthday. But it was not meant to be. So we tried to keep ourselves busy with other things. One thing we did was take Greta for her first haircut. She was not a happy camper about it. She thought it would hurt and she kept moving her head just when the hair stylist was about to snip. She finally gave up and said it was the best she could do. It did look a little better. Maybe next time.

We spent a lot of time at the library. Surfing the internet and checking out Care Bear Movies.

Finally the big day arrived and Amber felt some contractions that came and went for a few days. A little after Midnight on the 13th of February they came for sure. The Mid-wife and her assistants were called and they checked on Amber then took a snooze while Amber labored. The baby finally arrived around 11:00 am. She was perfect!

It took almost two days to come up with a name that would stick. But it was worth the wait. Ingrid Rose weighed in at 8lbs. 13ounces and was 21" long.

Greta is adjusting to being the big sister. She did call up Lenny Sue (the Mid-wife) on her Nemo phone and ask her to come get her baby. Other than that it has been smooth sailing and she loves kissing her sister a lot.

I am back home after staying in Reno for two weeks. It was so fun to be there in the house with Jared and Amber and help welcome their new baby daughter into this world. What a blessing! Our God is so good. I will be back in Reno in another week and will be able to post new pictures of Ingrid and the family.
