Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno

October 25, 2008
I had planned to take both girls to the park but Ingrid decided to take a nap instead so just Greta and I went. The fall colors were spectacular. We played for 3 hours. I think Greta had the most fun jumping over all of geese poop, yuck! It was everywhere but we still had a fun week with Jared and Amber and the girls. Bill and Jared painted the whole outside of the house and all of the trim. It looked great...sorry forgot to get a picture.

Animals at Scheels Sporting Goods

October 24, 2008
Bill and I with Greta in tow went to the brand new sporting goods store in Sparks, Scheels. It is huge and made Cabella's look small. The animal displays were awesome. There was a ferris wheel that Greta wanted to go on so bad. Both Bill and I don't do high things but being the good Grandma I went. It was actually fun and you could see the whole store. Bill took her on a Nascar simulator and I think they were both a little woosey afterwards. Bill wouldn't show me his score (but I think he was last). Who would think a sporting goods store could be so entertaining.

Greta & Ingrid at the Pumpkin Patch

October 20, 2008
Every year when I come to Reno for Greta's birthday we always take a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. This was Ingrid's first year. Both girls had so much fun. They both got to pick out pumpkins. Greta picked the big one for herself and a little one for her little sister.

Greta Turns 4!

October 18, 2008
We went to Reno for Greta's 4 year old party on October 18. It was a lot of fun. Lots of kids and grown-ups. Amber made the Sponge Bob Square Pants cake. There were hot dogs and macaroni and cheese...Greta's favorites. There was a bouncy house and lots of noise. I am glad we could be there.

Suns vs Nuggets

October 8, 2008
On Columbus Day holiday weekend Bill and I drove down to Palm Desert for a little get-a-way at the De Bie's condo. Bill happened to see that the Phoenix Suns NBA team was playing an outdoor game against the Denver Nuggets. Since the Suns are our favorite team we decided to go. It had been a lovely day but the evening turned very cold and who would have thought that you would be freezing at a basketball game in the desert. I was done by half time but we huddled together and managed to stick it out to the bitter end. It was still fun but I still shiver thinking about it. It reminded me of sitting on the bleachers watching little league games in Bridgeport...brrrr.
